Tips for Better Results

Be specific with dates: Instead of "last month," try "from December 1 to December 31, 2025" for more accurate results.

  1. Specify the data source — mention which platform you want data from (Google Ads, Meta Ads, Shopify, etc.)
  2. Include time ranges — always specify the date range for your analysis
  3. Ask follow-up questions — Gemini remembers context, so you can drill deeper into insights
  4. Request specific metrics — mention the KPIs you care about (ROAS, CPC, CTR, conversion rate, etc.)

Terminal Workflow

Since Gemini CLI runs in your terminal, you can easily integrate it into your workflow:

Tool Approval: Gemini CLI requires approval before executing MCP tools. In interactive mode, you'll be prompted to approve. For one-shot queries, use -y (YOLO mode) to auto-approve all tool calls.

Once inside the interactive session, MCP servers configured in your settings.json will be available automatically.

The terminal interface makes it easy to:

  • Copy/paste data into reports
  • Pipe output to files
  • Integrate with scripts and automation
  • Work without leaving your development environment
