Sorry, Your Microsoft Ads Connection Failed
Oops! Your Microsoft Ads connection didn't go through. This issue could be due to one of these reasons:
Admin Approval Required
If Microsoft asks for admin approval while you sign in with a work or school account, your organization may require an administrator to approve Adzviser's requested permissions.
Solution: Ask your Microsoft Entra administrator to review and approve the Adzviser app using Microsoft's admin-consent instructions. After approval, retry the connection in Adzviser using your own account with access to Microsoft Advertising.
Admin approval lets you authorize the app. You still need access to the advertising account you want to connect.
Personal vs. Work Account Conflict
Microsoft Advertising supports both personal Microsoft accounts and work or school accounts. Connecting with the wrong identity can fail even when you have successfully signed in to Microsoft. Microsoft's authentication documentation explains the supported account types.
Solution: Use the identity that has access to your Microsoft Advertising account:
- Sign in to Microsoft Advertising and check that you can open the advertising account you want to connect. If it is missing, ask the person managing that advertising account to confirm or grant your access.
- Retry the connection in Adzviser, choose Sign in with Microsoft, and use that same identity. If Microsoft asks you to choose an account type, select Personal account or Work or school account according to the identity that has access.
- If Microsoft selects a different account, switch accounts at the sign-in screen and try again.
If you normally access Microsoft Advertising using Sign in with Google, choose that option on Adzviser's connection page and use the same Google account.
If Microsoft explicitly says a personal, work, or Google account is required, follow the account type named in the error. Microsoft's identity-error reference explains these messages.
